Flipping the Funnel: Web 2.0 as Word of Mouth Tools

Seth Godin has made available a new e-book titled Flipping the Funnel, covering his believe about some of the new Web 2.0 applications (flickr, del.icio.us, squidoo and others) as word of mouth tools. How you can turn your customers into salespeople.
Your friends and customers are two or the biggest assets that are underused. Give them the appropriate tool, encourage them to do it and you can turn them into a megaphone for your business.
Of course, he focuses on the recent service he started in previous year (Squidoo) to do the job, but still the 18-page e-book is worth reading. It may give you ideas to start inexpensive campaigns to spread the word.
Some bloggers may not allow affiliate links on their blog comments for various reasons, but there is no reason they can’t start a lens in Squidoo and place affiliate links in it. If they do it properly and build a great lens, they may even earn some money not only from the AdSense ads, related Amazon products but also the commission generated from the sales of your product/ service.
How about that to encourage your rabid fans to spread the word? No website is required, anyone can do it.
The e-book comes in 3 editions: for companies (profit), non-profits organization and politics. You know which one I read.
